• 1920 - Taco Inc. founded when Elwood White purchased the Thermal Appliance Company (T.A.Co.), in Elizabeth, NJ.
• 1926 - Taco moves to Providence, RI - develops a tankless water heater , the tempering valve, & obtains a patent for year-round boiler control.
• 1930´s - The "Taco Heater" becomes a generic name.
• 1940´s - During World War II, Taco builds gun mounts & steel tube heat exchangers for the Navy, and is awarded two Army-Navy "E Awards" for excellence in manufacturing and reducing costs to the US government by 50%.
• 1950´s - Taco makes the vertical pump with bottle-stopper (which forms the basis of today´s Taco Model 110 Pump) and markets the "Perfecta" wet-rotor circulator.
• 1960´s - Taco produces the 1600 line of pumps with innovative cartridge design that simplifies field maintenance and distributor stocking.
• 1970´s -Taco introduces the wet-rotor circulator with hollow shaft - which minimizes rust contamination and greatly extends product life.
• 1980´s - Taco introduces the Taco Commercial Pumps line, and builds the Taco Fall River, MA, manufacturing facility, for producing heat exchangers and expansion tanks.
• 1990´s - Taco reorganizes manufacturing and opens the Taco Learning Center. The Taco ESP motorized zone valve is introduced for hydronic closed-loop heating systems requiring quiet operation. The Taco Electronic Priority Zoning Circulator and the VorTech Air Separator are introduced for residential heating systems. Taco acquires Sweet Controls expanding the Taco line of electronic control products.
• Early 2000´s - Taco ´WAGS´ Valve, Taco Radiant System products (Taco I-Series Mixing Valves, Taco Radiant Mixing Block, Taco Variable Speed "00"® Circulators), and the Taco LoadMatch® Hydronic Single-Pipe System are all introduced.
• Today - Taco Inc produces a broad range of water circulation pumps, hydronic control components, air elimination components, heat-transfer equipment, and related HVAC accessories.
