1.2.2. Duct Heaters and Duct Furnaces
Duct Heaters are electric heaters that heat a moving air stream as it passes through the heater. They are sometimes used to intensely heat an object at the end of an air or gas stream. Duct Furnaces are available in electric or gas fired models, and can be combined with a Blower Cabinet for custom space heating applications.
Electric Duct Heaters
Duct Heaters consist of a central electric heating element, and a fan (or fans) to force heated air through a large system of ductwork. Duct Heaters are available in a range of sizes and energy outputs, and are also commonly available with features such as cooling options, finned heating elements, integrated thermostats, adjustable thermostats, thermocouple wells, and explosion proof housings. |

The duct heaterīs Heating Element may be provided with a protective outer sheath or jacket made of aluminum, iron, steel, or stainless steel. Common applications for duct heaters include adding additional heat to a cold room, providing a boost/backup for a ground source heat pump, monitoring air temperature in a forced air system, and other industrial process air heating applications.
Duct Furnaces
Duct Furnaces are available in electric or gas fired models, in a variety of sizes and configurations, suitable for applications in stores, warehouses, factories and distribution centers. They can be installed on a roof adjacent to existing ductwork and equipment, for supplying makeup air for exhaust hoods, and can be combined with a blower cabinet for a custom heating applications. 1.2.3. Corrosive Environment Unit Heaters
Unit Heaters for Corrosive Environments are frequently used in Chemical Plants and Salt Plants, and are typically manufactured using corrosion-resistant Cast Iron. Units such as those manufactured by Grid Industrial Heating are either Steam or Hot Water type, that can be provided in either Horizontal or Vertical configurations:
